StandPI

Cross-system control of transport and intralogistics for sustainable distribution on the physical internet

The result of the Stand PI research project is to enable the efficient integration of private cars (crowdsourcing delivery) as transport capacity for shipments from industrial companies. The focus is on the development of an algorithm that optimally links the demand for industrial shipments with the supply of private cars on a real-time basis, following the example of the Physical Internet. These cars, which are already on the road, form a sustainable alternative to conventional transport logistics. On the one hand, private individuals act as an active element for climate protection and on the other hand, they benefit from monetary incentives.
