Environmental data
Max Dorfmann’s conceptual prototype of an environmental sensor system is intended to offer a DIY or community-driven alternative to centralised environmental monitoring stations, with the help of which residents have the opportunity to set up and operate their own monitoring stations in their immediate living environment.
The aim is to sensitise people to their own living environment and to be able to identify possible environmental pollution. The quantitative evidence of possible pollution profiles – for example at their own place of residence – expands the users’ scope for action so that appropriate measures can either be demanded from public authorities (e.g. municipalities) or taken on their own initiative in order to improve their own quality of life.
