PERSPECTIVES AND CHALLENGES FOR THE PROMOTION OF CYCLING INFRASTRUCTURE
In his lecture, Professor Antônio Nélson Rodrigues da Silva will report on the DePICT project, which deals with the design and policy implementation for encouraging cycling and walking trips. He explores the question of how bicycle infrastructure has to be planned and what influence the perception and in particular stress has on the behaviour of cyclists. He gives exciting insights into field test results from Brazil and European cities.
The lecture will be held in English.
Antônio Nélson Rodrigues da Silva is Professor of Transportation Engineering and Deputy Director of the São Carlos School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo.
